About Matar paneer Recipe

A yummy side dish, made with green peas and paneer, to be served with roti or parathas on the side.

Matar paneer

Ingredients to make Matar paneer

  • paneer, cut in cubes 200gm
  • Pea , 1 cup
  • ginger and garlic paste 2 tsp
  • onion,grated 1 big
  • tomato ,grated 2 medium
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • bay leaf 1
  • Brown cardamom 2
  • Dry red chili 2
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1tsp
  • coriander powder 1tsp
  • cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water 2 cup
  • fenugreek leaves 2tsp
  • coriander leaves 2 tsp

How to make Matar paneer

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add Brown cardamom, bay leaf, dry red chili and cook for a seconds.
  2. Add ginger and garlic paste, onion and cook until onion turn brown.
  3. Add, pea,turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt,garam masala and water1/4 cup and cook for 5 min
  4. Add tomato ,fenugreek leaves and cook for 8 to 10 min in low flame.
  5. Add paneer and water and cook for 5 to 8 min more.
  6. Serve in a platter and garnish with coriander leaves.
