Ingredients to make Fish in gravy

  • 500g rohu fish
  • For marination
  • 1 spoon salt
  • 1/2 spoon turmeric powder
  • 1 spoon coriander powder
  • 1 spoon red chilli powder
  • 1 spoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • For gravy
  • 2 spoon yellow mustered seeds
  • 1/2 spoon poppy seeds
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/4 spoon black pepper
  • 1/2 spoon cumin
  • 1/4 spoon turmeric
  • 1 spoon coriander powder
  • 3/4 spoon red chilli powder
  • salt 1 spoon
  • Musterd oil as per needed
  • 1 spoon chopped coriander leaves

How to make Fish in gravy

  1. Clean the fish with water.
  2. Add all marination ingredients on the fish and mix well
  3. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  4. In mixi jar put all gravy ingredients and make a fine paste.
  5. After 15 minutes heat a pan add mustard oil and once the oil is heated than add 5-6 slice of fish.
  6. Fry both sides till dark brown colour colour. Take out fish when it is done and fry the remaining fish in the same way.
  7. In the same pan add gravy masala paste and saute them 2-4 minutes
  8. When the masala starts leaving oil add water as per needed.
  9. When gravy is boil than add fried fishes in it.
  10. Boil them 10 minutes in medium flame cover with lid.
  11. After 10 minutes add finely chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Serve with rice or roti.
