Katla fish /rohu fish& cauliflower in musturd gravy

Ingredients to make Katla fish /rohu fish& cauliflower in musturd gravy

  • Rohu fish 1 kg
  • Yellow musturd seeds 2tbsp
  • garlic paste of 3 medium size pods
  • Turmuric pwdr 2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
  • Redchilli pwdr 4 tsp + 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • 3 medium size chopped tomatoes
  • Black musturd 1tsp
  • Musturd oil for frying & cooking
  • water as required for gravy
  • potato 3 medium size
  • cauliflower 250 gm

How to make Katla fish /rohu fish& cauliflower in musturd gravy

  1. Soak yellow musturd seeds for 30 mins
  2. Clean & wash fish, peel garlic & make a paste
  3. Remove 2 to 3 tsp & add yellow musturd seeds & grind & make smooth paste
  4. In a big bowl add fish,2 tsp of turmuric pwdr, 1/2 tsp of redchilli pwdr , 2 -3 tsp garlic paste, salt to taste
  5. Mix properly and marinate for 15 to 20 mins,
  6. Heat oil in a pan fry cauliflower & potato which is cut into smal pcs
  7. Add little salt & turmuric & fry 3 - 4 mins
  8. Then fry marinated fish pcs, cook from both sides till it become crispy
  9. Remove on a paper towel
  10. Dont discard oil,use same oil prepare gravy
  11. Add black musturd seeds once its crackel then add garlic musturd paste &cook in medium flame
  12. Adding turmuric pwdr, redchilli pwdr & salt
  13. Till it start leaving oil add chopped tomatoes , cook till tomatoes become soft
  14. & paste stae giving anice aroma
  15. Add fried potato & cauliflower pcs into masala and mix all together properly then add water & give a boil
  16. Now add fried fish pcs, cook in medium heat for 5- 7 mins,
  17. That fish absorbe gravy, check seasoning turn of heat.... serve with steam rice / roti....

My Tip:

Keep in mind we added salt while marinating
