ABOUT Besan ki sabji (no onion garlic) RECIPE

Besan when cooked and sauted in oil becomes so tasty to eat. Kids like to eat without gravy as well. I made this sabji without onion garlic so that the taste of besan is enhanced and goes well for children.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For besan pieces
  2. Besan - 250 gms
  3. Haldi - 1/2 tspn
  4. Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
  5. Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn
  6. Water
  7. Salt
  8. Oil
  9. For gravy
  10. Tomato -1
  11. Bay leaf - 1
  12. Red chilli - 1
  13. Cumin seeds -1/4 tspn
  14. Haldi - 1/2 tspn
  15. Chilli powder -1/2 tspn
  16. Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn
  17. Salt
  18. Water
  19. Oil

Instructions

  1. TAKE BESAN IN A KADHAI
  2. ADD HALDI
  3. PEPPER POWDER
  4. CHILLI POWDER
  5. AND SALT
  6. NOW ADD SUFFICIENT WATER TO FORM PASTE
  7. MIX PROPERLY TO AVOID LUMPS
  8. SWITCH ON THE FLAME AND START STIRRING
  9. IT WILL START GETTING THICK
  10. COOK TILL RAW AROMA VANISHES
  11. GREASE A PLATE WITH OIL
  12. TAKE THE COOKED BESAN AND MAKE A ROLL
  13. DIVIDE THE ROLL INTO 5 PARTS
  14. MAKE ROLL OF EACH PART
  15. AND ALLOW IT TO SET FOR 20 MIN
  16. MEANWHILE, TAKE HALDI, CHILLI, CORIANDER AND PEPPER POWDER IN A BOWL. ADD TOMATOES
  17. WHEN THE ROLL IS SET, START CUTTING FROM ONE END
  18. HEAT OIL IN A PAN, STIR FRY THEM
  19. STIR FRY FOR 5 MIN TILL THEY TURN CRISPY
  20. KEEP THEM ASIDE
  21. IN THE PAN, HEAT OIL, ADD CUMIN SEEDS, BAY LEAF AND RED CHILLI
  22. NOW ADD THE MASALA MIXTURE
  23. AND COOK FOR 5 MIN , ADD SALT
  24. ADD WATER AND SOME BESAN WHICH REMAINED STICKED IN THE PAN. THIS MAKES THE GRAVY THICK
  25. TRANSFER THE BESAN IN THE GRAVY. ALLOW 1 BOIL
