Aloo Matar Paneer

Ingredients to make Aloo Matar Paneer

  • 200 gm paneer
  • 1 medium potato cubed
  • 2 onion chopped
  • 1.5 tomato
  • 4 green chillies
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • 50 gms green peas
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1.5 tsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 5 almonds
  • 4 peppercorns

How to make Aloo Matar Paneer

  1. In a pan heat oil , shallow fry paneer cubes and keep aside
  2. Make a paste of onion , ginger garlic, almonds , cloves , cardamom and pepper corns
  3. Make a purée of tomato and green chilli
  4. In a pan heat oil. add cumin seeds , 1/2 tsp kasuri Methi and a bay leaf.
  5. Now add onion almond paste . saute for sometime till brown
  6. Add tomato chilli paste , turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and sugar.
  7. cook till oil separates. add the potatoes , peas and shallow fried paneer
  8. Mix well. add 1.5 cup water. mix well
  9. add 1/2 tsp kasuri Methi. cover and cook for 10 min on a low flame.
  10. garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
