ABOUT Meethi sakhlis RECIPE

This is heirloom recipe which is followed by me.from my mom these sakhlis are made of jaggery and whole wheat flour with black sesame seeds very healthy and tasty and with very less ingredients ,these can be carried in tiffin , you can have in morning with tea or a cup of milk

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Jaggery 1/2 Cup
  2. Oil for frying
  3. Warm water 1/2 cup
  4. Ghee 3 tablespoon
  5. Wheat flour 3 cups
  6. Black Sesame seeds 1teaspoon
  7. White sesame seeds 1/2 teaspoon


  1. Add warm water to jaggery and soak for two hours
  2. Add sesame seeds
  4. Mix with spoon
  5. Our soaked jaggery water is ready
  6. Add gradually and start binding the dough
  7. Dough should be stiff not soft
  8. Divide into two parts
  9. Make ball and roll it with rolling pin
  10. Keep oil for frying on medium flame
  11. Our rolled dough is ready
  12. Take a cookie cutter and cut it (i have used flower shaped )
  13. All the sakhlis are ready
  14. Remove extra dough from side and gently remove sakhlis
  15. Prick with fork
  16. Our sakhlis are ready
  17. Fry in hot oil
  18. Add more sakhlis and fry them by flipping
  19. As they turn golden brown remove from oil
  20. All the sakhlis are ready
  21. Serve them in serving plate
