All of us worry incessantly about our kids and what their futures would be like. While every parent ensures that they provide the best for their children, designing their rooms according to the science of Vastu can help energize their room and fill their life with creativity, success, and prosperity.

Here are the top tips of how to use Vastu for your child’s bedroom.

  • Plan your child’s room in the west part of the house. Alternatively, east, north or the northeast direction can also be used. Having the kids’ room in this part improves their grasping power and knowledge.
  • The door of the study should also be in the north, east or northeast direction. It should not face the bed.
  • Windows should be in the east or north direction. A small window can be planned in the west. This should be parallely opposite the door or the other window in the north or the east. Keeping the windows open helps circulate the air thus reducing negative energy.
  • The bed should be placed in the southwest direction and the child should sleep with their head in the east or south direction. Avoid box beds.

  • Wardrobes, almirahs and book racks should be placed in the south or west direction.
  • The computer should be placed in the north direction.
  • All the furniture should be at least 3 inches away from the wall.
  • Choose furniture made from solid wood.

The Study Table

  • Place the study table in the north direction.
  • The child should face the north when studying to enhance concentration.
  • Use straight-backed chairs to rise in life.
  • The shadow of the child studying should not fall on the books.
  • The bookshelf should not be placed above the study table.

Inside the Room

  • Use the color green in a child’s room. A light yellow is also a good option.
  • For hyperactive children, blue is the best color.
  • In the southeast corner of the room, place uplighters to create a positive aura.
  • Place an idol of Saraswati on the child’s side or study table to ensure that the room is filled with positive energy at all times.
  • Decorate the northeast corner with flowing water to allow fresh ideas and peace to rule.
  • Sharp and spotlights should be avoided as they cause mental strain.
  • You can also decorate the child’s room with a painting of a galloping horse. This will be a constant source of inspiration for him/her.

  • Keep the center of the room empty.

Other Points to Keep in Mind

  • Keep the kids’ room well-lit and bright. Ensure that sunlight or at least natural light enters their room during some part of the day.
  • Pointed, sharp or odd-shaped furniture should be avoided.
  • Do not allow the kids to eat in their beds.

Following these simple Vastu tips will enhance the vibes in the kids’ room and will keep it bustling with positive energy.
