Nutrition is about eating a healthy and balanced diet. However, we are no strangers to a busy lifestyle or days that require a lot of hustle. Majority of us barely get enough time to finish one meal in a day with peace, let alone be healthy one. Does that mean we stop trying? Definitely not!
India’s leading nutrition and exercise science expert, Rujuta Diwekar, reminded once more through her Instagram post the benefits of including this time-tested food in our diet this season. She called them “Winter Superfoods.” and presented a list of things that can be useful to us during winters, ways in which you can consume them, and the several health benefits that they ensure.

She mentions 10 things that she believes will be good for immunity, joint, bone health, good skin, hair, and the body as a whole.
Bajra- It is rich in magnesium, which helps keep the heart healthy and controls the glucose receptors in the body. Also, keep diabetes at bay and promote muscle growth and hair regeneration.
Goond- One of the most essential ones according to Ayurveda. These are known to boost stamina and health, prevent sickness during winters, and are rich in vitamin D, making them good for bones.
Kand and Root Veggies- Vegetables such as sweet potatoes, turnips, ginger, beets, garlic, radishes, and fennel are prebiotic, aid weight loss, improve digestion and assimilation of nutrition.
Til- Popularly consumed in the form of ladoos, contains essential fatty acids and vitamins E, which are good for bones, skin, and hair.
Peanuts- Known to be amongst the world’s healthiest foods. Rich in vitamin B, amino acids, and are good for your heart.
