Ahead of the festive season, many brands are trying their best to cater to the festive theme and come up with innovative advertisements. Like every year, this year too Cadbury left no stone unturned to create such an ad that will touch the hearts of all. The recent ad of Cadbury features Shahrukh Khan who is seen representing the small businesses that suffered huge losses during the pandemic.
The 2 minute-long video starts with highlighting how: “big businesses and brands that suffered during the pandemic found their way back but the smaller stores still suffer”. The video goes on to describe how the small businesses have seen their worst during the pandemic and owing to this Cadbury decided to help them out in their own way. The Cadbury ad is titled “not just a Cadbury ad.”
Featuring Shahrukh Khan, the ad goes on to tell how: “This Diwali, we helped hundreds of small businesses by making India’s biggest brand ambassador, their brand ambassador”. Shahrukh Khan in the ad is seen dressed up in traditional attire. He calls out the names of different stores and urges the viewers to shop all that they want from small stores. In the very ad itself, it is revealed that with the use of Machine learning, Shahrukh Khan’s voice and face have been mimicked. Explaining the same, the video said: “Because it’s difficult to cover all of the stores… we gave the public the power to create their own version of ‘Not Just a Cadbury Ad.” This ad was appreciated all around and viewers praised both Cadbury and Shahrukh Khan for representing such a strong and innovative idea.
