When an individual consumes more calories than their body uses, they store the extra calories. These stored calories get accumulated over a period of time as fat. This condition is known as obesity.
Obesity, unfortunately is the harbinger of many other diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disease, arthritis, kidney problems, liver problems, heart problems and others. A number of factors can lead to obesity including social, behavioral, hormonal, environmental, and cultural factors. Symptoms of obesity include feeling lethargic, tiring easily, feeling breathless even at the slightest of exertion, excessive sweating and the likes.
Obesity is not a good thing and should be managed at all costs. Here are a few home remedies that can be used to manage the condition:

Taking warm water with organic honey and 2 tsp lemon works wonders in countering obesity. This can be taken throughout the day. This mixture is rich in vitamin B and C, magnesium, phosphorous and calcium. It helps cleanse the liver and kick start it right in the morning. The liver helps remove toxins from the body, which ultimately leads to weight loss.

Mix 50 ml aloe vera juice in 200 ml or a glass of water and consume it in the morning to manage weight. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties and helps in reducing water weight.

Add water to 5-10 grams of uttareni seeds and bring to a boil. Add rock candy or jaggery and milk as per the consistency you would like and bring to a boil. Cook for another 5 minutes. Consume this kheer regularly. Ensure that you crush and clean the seeds before use. Uttareni seeds are known to reduce belly fat. It holds an important place in Ayurveda and is a well-known and widely used plant.

Prepare a mixture of 24 grams of bel fruit pulp with 4-6 pure guggulu seeds. Take this mixture twice a day – in the morning and at night. Take it daily for seven days and then take it once a week. This helps reduce belly fat. As you progress, increase the volume of bel fruit pulp by 12 grams and guggulu seeds by 2 per month.

Soak a spoon of fenugreek seeds overnight. In the morning, before having anything else, even water, chew the fenugreek seeds and swallow them. Drink water after this.

Grate carrot and eat it for breakfast for three months. After that, to balance the effects of the carrot, eat amla for the next three months. Repeat with carrot and then amla again. You will notice your weight drops considerably in a year.
Add 2 tbsp triphala powder to 500 ml of water and boil till half of the liquid remains. Strain the liquid and leave to cool down. Add honey to taste and consume. Drink this liquid twice daily, once after breakfast and once after dinner. Triphala helps in replenishing vitamin C and calcium, which obese people usually lack in.

Include mint in your daily diet. Eat mint chutneys and raitas. You can also take mint tea. Mint facilitates better absorption of nutrients which increases the rate of metabolism and a faster metabolism rate aids in weight loss.
Being obese does not mean that one has to live with it forever. Simple home remedies coupled with regular exercise can help manage obesity easily and effectively. Try the above remedies and see which works the best for you.
