In the quest to lose weight, women adopt strategies ranging from dieting to drinking oil, clipping their noses, eating sweet treats while cooking, taking diet pills, to over-exercising. While some may swear by these methods, past researches have shown that these might not be the best ways to reduce weight. Losing weight might be difficult, but it is not impossible. However never follow these ways to do so as they may cause more harm than good!
Giving up food is not a good way to lose weight. If you stop eating food altogether, you might shed a few kilos rapidly, but when you start eating again the body will pick the kilos even more swiftly. This is because, when you stop eating, your body goes into starvation mode. And when you start eating again, the body starts storing the fat in anticipation of another starvation spell. Further, if you stop eating food, the effects will show on your hair and your face, which will quickly lose their luster and their glow respectively.
A smart alternative to this strategy would be to eat at least 5-6 small meals in a day to keep your metabolism rate up and going so that you are able to digest anything that you eat and at a good pace.
Nowadays, a lot of quick-fix diet measures are available in the market, the most favored among these are diet or slimming pills. If you are looking for something that can permanently keep your weight down, then diet pills are not the way to go because these can have severe harmful side effects.
The best way to lose weight would be to eat on time, exercise regularly, sleep and wake up on time and work out a suitable and healthy daily routine.
Just because a food item is marked low-fat, zero-fat or sugar-free, does not mean that it is like that. If you carefully read the labels, you would be surprised to note that sometimes these foods have enough sugar or other carbs to categorize them as normal foods.
Rather than going for processed and frozen food, you should opt for fresh vegetables, fruits and freshly prepared items. For a healthy body, it is important to eat everything – but what you should control is the portion size and the form of food you eat.
If you feel like having junk foods such as pizzas, sandwiches or burgers, then do not restrain yourself. A person who resists the food that he/she really wants to have, worried about the calorie intake, actually ends up consuming something that has even more calories. So, if you are craving something, give in to your cravings and have a small portion of the food item.
Remember that a slice of pizza or cake cannot affect your weight loss goals majorly. If you limit your intake of junk foods to once in 7 to 10 days and then practice portion control, then none of your weight loss goals will be hampered. And to counter your conscious, you can always choose a pizza that is loaded with veggies!
The most important part of losing weight is to believe that your body is beautiful. Many a times, fat people have comparatively more stamina and a better metabolic rate than thin people. Being comfortable in your own skin is the key to good health!
