Due to involuntary diaphragm contraction, sudden breath intake leads to hiccups. There is no particular reason or a situation fixed for hiccups to arise and so are their remedies. The point is to relax the nerve that goes from the brain to your stomach to stop hiccups. So you can use pressure points just below the throat along the collar line or the hollow point behind the earlobe and watch the hiccups vanish!
Place a toothpick on the roof of your mouth and breath in as much as you can to hold on. Tickle the roof of your mouth with a cotton with your tongue tugged on it. This will trigger the vagus nerves and stop the contraction.
The trick here is to distract your body’s focus on dealing with digesting something else. Sip a hot sauce or something that is hot and spicy to see how the burns and the heat will baffle the focus towards this and your hiccups will be history!
This is one of the oldest and the best way to cure hiccups. Simmer dill seeds in a cup of water for fifteen minutes and consume the same. Alternatively, you can simply chew the seeds to swallow it. This will trigger the vagus nerve and will stop the hiccups. Repeat it frequently to get rid of hiccups.
This is perhaps the most commonly known technique to stop hiccups. Distracting your mind from the thought of hiccups at times is an easy way out. So get set with some loud music and dance to the beats randomly or play a game that is very interesting. Alternatively, you can ask your friend to ask you some odd questions on which you may ponder deeply.
