Right in the middle of joy and humor, many Bollywood stars left us for their heavenly abode and each death took a part of the entertainment industry with them. Apart from health issues, some of them died due to unnatural causes which shook the entire country. Some of these actors died so early that it scarred their families and fans in both India and Abroad.
You must have seen the performance of many of these actors on the silver screen, but these actors left us too early. A few more years, and we would have been blessed with some more excellent performances that we could cherish throughout our lives.
1) Smita Patil
Smita Patil was one of Bollywood’s most iconic actresses. Smita Patil proved her acting mettle with a lot of films and received several awards during her short career. The actress also received a Padma Shri award in 1985. Raj Babbar and Smita Patil fell in love and the couple got married. Smita reportedly died due to childbirth complications after giving birth to her son Prateik.
2) Jiah Khan
The death of Jiah Khan created a stir in the industry. This young and budding actress was reportedly found dead at her apartment in Juhu in June 2013. She was just 25 years old. As an immediate consequence of the death, Jiah Khan’s alleged boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide. According to a report, a three-page letter allegedly written by Jiah was found by the police.
Sridevi was often called Indian cinema’s first female superstar. She had a career which spanned over five decades. But her life came to a tragic end on 24th February 2018 when she was found dead, completely immersed in the bathtub of Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, by her husband Boney Kapoor She died aged 55. The General Department of Forensic Evidence, Dubai reported the cause of death to be “accidental drowning”. The toxicology report revealed traces of alcohol in her blood.
4) Divya Bharti
Bollywood suffered another big loss with the untimely death of Divya Bharti at a very young age. Divya started her career in the Southern film industry at a very young age. She proved her prowess with the movies Deewana, Balwan and Shola Aur Shabnam. She was only 19 years old when she died after falling from the fifth floor of her apartment in Versova. She was a growing talent and her death came as a tremendous shock to the industry.
5) Jaspal Bhatti
Jaspal Bhatti was given the title of “King of Comedy” after the launch of his comedy show – FLOP SHOW. He became the common man’s idol with his show that looked at the contemporary issues prevalent in society today. But fate had other plans for him and much to everyone’s remorse, Jaspal Bhatti died in a car crash in October 2012 while on his way to promote a movie at the age of 57.
6) Nirmal Pandey
Nirmal Pandey was a very capable actor who passed away at the age of 48 after suffering a massive heart attack in 2010. His role as the bandit in the internationally acclaimed movie based on the life of Phoolan Devi was widely appreciated by everyone.
7) Shafi Inamdar
Shafi Inamdar started his career with the movie ‘Vijeeta’ and acted in over 30 movies in his short film career. He gave his most remarkable performance in the show ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’, making him and the show a national hit. The actor passed away at an early age of 50 after suffering a heart attack in March 1996.
