Launched on September 20th, 1946, the Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals that take place. Scheduled in May every year, this festival takes place in the beautiful French Riviera town of Cannes.
The main aim of this film festival is to contribute towards the development of cinema, boosting the international film industry and celebrate cinema at a global level. Only a few films are chosen to be shown at this festival. The chosen films then compete for the exclusive ‘Palme D’Or’-the grand prize of the Cannes Festival. So exclusive is this festival, that only industry insiders and filmmakers can walk the ‘iconic red-carpeted steps’ for the ‘black-tie only premieres’.
