Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Mehendi and Sangeet!

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding festivities have kick-started in Italy.

On 12th November, the couple got officially engaged in a traditional Konkani – Phool Muddi Ceremony. Phool Muddi is a traditional ceremony which marks the official engagement of a couple. In this ceremony, the bride’s father welcomes the groom and his family with a coconut. After that, they make the groom sit and wash his feet. The duo exchanged rings at Villa Del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy.

The sangeet and mehendi ceremony of DeepVeer took place yesterday. The groom-to-be, Ranveer Singh, made a smashing entry while dancing to the song ‘Tune Maari Entriyaan’. He also danced on ‘Gallan Goodiyan’ and even played the dhol for Deepika. The duo then danced together. The other songs that were played at the ceremony included ‘Mehendi Hai Rachne Wali’, ‘Mehendi Ni Mehendi’, ‘Kala Shah Kala’ and ‘Dholak’.

Singer Harshdeep Kaur and her troupe made all the guests dance the night away. Harshdeep performed various songs of hers such as ‘Dilbaro’ and ‘Kabira’. During the Thumri performance by Shubha Mudgal, Deepika got emotional and was in tears. Not only did Ranveer come by her side, but also hugged her and comforted her to ensure that she felt alright. Now that’s what a gentleman does!

Reportedly, Deepika has got a designer mehendi done on her palms while Ranveer just got DeepVeer written on his hands. They are getting married today, i.e 14th November. 14th November was also the release date of their first movie together-Ram Leela, which released 5 years ago.  It was while working on this  movie that both the actors fell in love with each other.

The preparations for the wedding are in full swing at Villa Del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. It is even rumored that Ranveer will reach the wedding venue with his baraat in a seaplane!
