The thyroid is a disease which is caused due to the damage to the thyroid gland. The hormones in the thyroid gland take care of the entire metabolism of the body. Hence if you suffer from thyroid, its symptoms might take a toll on your body causing depression, hair loss, weight gain or loss and/or low body temperature. So it is crucial to understand how to take care of your health.
1. Eat food rich in vitamins and antioxidants
Fish, nuts, crab, sesame seeds, almonds, fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, minerals and iron are a must on daily basis. This will help in boosting your immune system and reduce inflammation.
2. Regular testing
When you are diagnosed with thyroid, ensure you check in a reputed lab to closely monitor your thyroid levels. You can follow the pills prescribed by your doctor and check the thyroid levels every six months.
3. Drink plenty of water
You are supposed to drink distilled water when you suffer from thyroid as this is free of chlorine and fluoride. Water also cleans your kidney and liver thereby making them function better.
4. Practice yoga and go for a walk
Go for a walk every day in order to boost your metabolic rate. Yoga is another excellent way to reduce thyroid naturally in the long run.
1. Don’t take other supplements
While you are on your thyroid medication, do not take any other supplement pills without consulting your doctor. This might hinder your body from absorbing thyroxine.
2. Don’t consume thyroid aggravating food
Foods like peanuts, cabbage, soybeans, broccoli, mustard, flax, kale, cauliflower block the iodine content from reaching your body thereby increasing the thyroid levels.
3. Refrain from drinking and smoking
These habits will definitely spoil your thyroid gland from functioning properly furthermore due to the chemicals that they would generate in your body.
