Eat these Foods to Sleep Well at Night!

Due to a busy, fast- paced lifestyle, sleep problems or insomnia have become a serious issue. This was earlier seen in the middle aged or the elderly, but nowadays even in the youth, this problem has become common. Before looking for a cure through medicines, you can try a special type of diet which has been considered to be very effective in bringing deep and good sleep for centuries. There are some foods that can help to not only bring deep sleep after eating, but to also gradually reduce the insomnia. Here we will tell you what these things are-


1) Milk

According to Ayurveda, milk is the best food to induce sleep, hence the rule of drinking milk before sleeping was made. The heaviness, sweetness and cool effect of milk helps in bringing good and deep sleep by controlling the imbalance in one’s nature. Modern science also believes that milk is very helpful for deep sleep. Before sleeping, it is advisable to drink a glass of lukewarm milk, which will aid in relaxing your muscles and will promote deep sleep.


2) Sweet Potato

Sweet potato is like a miracle diet for those who wish to have good sleep. Potassium found in sweet potato provides the necessary carbohydrates for deep sleep, and also acts as a muscle relaxant. Apart from this, sweet potato is also a good source of iron, copper, folate, fiber, magnesium and Vitamin. All of these keep the  immune system strong and and promote good health.


3) Banana

Eating bananas before sleeping at night can help you get a deep sleep. Potassium, which is found in large quantities in bananas (about 400 milligrams in each banana), relaxes the muscles and helps in good sleep.


4) Tart Cherry Juice

It’s a highly beneficial juice that promotes deep sleep. Many researches have proven that tart cherry juice contains melatonin and it also produces serotonin-both of these work miraculously for those that have problems in sleeping.


5) Almonds

Almonds are a rich source of magnesium that relaxes the muscles. According to research, if the body’s magnesium level is low, then sleep problems begin to crop up. Almonds also provide the necessary amount of protein which helps control the level of blood sugar in sleep. Roasted almonds have been considered even better for quick sleep.


6) Chrysanthemum/Guldavari Tea

The flowers of Guldavari or Chrysanthemum are also a natural remedy to bring good and deep sleep. Drink a cup of Chrysanthemum tea before sleeping at night and it will make you feel refreshed and energized for the next day after a long deep sleep.


7) Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is delicious as well as very effective for sleeping. To avoid obesity, use pure dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. It is a bit bitter, but it is quite effective because it contains serotonin which relaxes the body and mind and helps in sleeping.


8) Eggs

Many times insomnia can be due to a deficiency of protein. For this, take a boiled egg before sleeping at night as it contains a large amount of protein. This will help in the problem of insomnia that occurs due to lack protein.
