Let us find out a few effective home remedies that can be made with simple ingredients available in your kitchen to deal with skin pigmentation and blackheads. Let’s talk about blackheads first.
1) Steaming your Face
Steam works on the clogged pores of the skin and it is these clogged pores that are the primary reason for blackhead formation The open pores help in releasing impurities and steam, using a mild scrub after steam can easily remove blackheads from the skin.
How to do it: Fill a small tub with hot water and cover your head with a towel while putting your face above the tub. Allow the steam to work on your face for one to two minutes and repeat the process three to four times. Exfoliate your face with a mild scrub such as sugar or oatmeal after the steam.
2) Lemon and Honey
Lemon juice is a natural cleanser and when mixed with honey, it can do wonders for your skin by helping remove blackheads in an effective manner. Honey not only removes the impurities and extra oils of the skin but it also nourishes the skin and prevents dryness.
How to use: It works like a face pack. Simply mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with the same amount of honey and apply it on the skin. Leave it for ten minutes and rinse your face with water. Repeat this at least twice a week.
3) Activated Charcoal
Activated charcoal easily absorbs all the impurities and clears the blackheads effectively. It can easily pull out all the excess oil from the skin, leaving the pores clean and thus preventing blackheads from occurring again.
How to use: It works like a scrub. Mix half a teaspoon of activated charcoal with some water and apply this paste to the affected skin area. Do a gentle massage using this paste and leave it for ten to fifteen minutes. Wash it with water. For best results, use this at least twice a week.
