Family planning is a very important part of any marriage. It gives you and your husband enough time to get to know each other post-marriage, before you have children. Family planning allows you to have kids when both you and your partner are mentally and physically prepared to have a child.
Many people argue that birth control pills are the best method to protect against an unwanted pregnancy. Though this is true to some extent, there are some side effects of this as well. If you do not have the pill within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse, it becomes ineffective. Excessive consumption of these pills can also cause infertility. In addition to this, consuming birth control pills can have an adverse impact on your health. It can lead to problems such as headaches, back ache, nausea, vomiting, insomnia etc.
Natural contraception has been proven to be the most effective birth control method when compared to birth control pills, condoms etc. Research has shown that natural birth control is effective 97-100% of the time.
Some research has shown that excessive use of birth control pills can actually make you more susceptible to contracting breast cancer. There is no such risk of breast cancer if you use a natural birth control method.
Regular consumption of contraceptive pills can lower a women’s libido (sex drive). It can even reduce their interest in having sexual relations. No such problems happen with natural birth control. In fact, natural birth control lets you enjoy a healthy sex life with your partner.
Contraceptive pills can even have an adverse impact on a women’s menstrual cycle/periods. With natural birth control, hormonal fluctuations will be kept under control and a hormonal balance will be maintained in the body.
Natural birth control is very easy to implement. Unlike birth control pills which need to be consumed within 72 hours of sexual intercourse, there is no such limit for natural birth control. You just have to be careful that you do not have sexual relations during the ovulation period (i.e., when a new egg is released into the uterus by the ovaries) after your monthly cycle. The ovulation period occurs between the 10th and the 16th day of your menstrual cycle. For example, if you got your periods on 5th December, then refrain from having sex between 15th and 21st December. Apart from this, there are lots of period tracking apps that can be downloaded for free from the App Store as well as the Playstore.
Apart from preventing an unwanted pregnancy, natural birth control also gives you and your partner a sense of responsibility. Your partner and you are both responsible for natural birth control. When you both decide you are ready for a baby, you can easily start trying for one, without suffering the side effects of artificial birth control methods.
