With a lot of changes going all around, even the food industry is witnessing tremendous changes. While machines are making it easier to cook, yet on other hand there are some initiatives that are redefining the food world. One such change recently came into notice when an ATM grain was launched in Haryana. This move is not only a first of its kind but has also made a lot of us astonished. Isn’t it?

The grain ATM works like any other ATM. It was launched in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram. This one of a kind ATM is named annapurti and the announcement was made by Haryana’s deputy CM, Dushyant Chautala. He said: “I am announcing with a great pride that country’s first food grain ATM annapurti has been seen up… The purpose of this ATM is to make the distributions of grains at government-run ration shops easy and hassle-free”. This ATM grain can dispense three types of grains: wheat, rice and millet.

This ATM has been launched as a part of the World Food Programme and is called Automated, Multi Commodity, Grain Dispensing Machine. The machine can dispense about 70 kg of grains in just 5-7 minutes. Further, when talking about the working of this ATM, it was shared how this works on a biometric system. So, one is supposed to enter their Aadhar or ration card details to get grains from this machine. And to further expand this remarkable move, there is a scheme under the Central government that will set such grain ATMs across the country.

This initiative was appreciated by a lot of people. So, what are your thoughts about this ATM grain? Please share your opinions in the comments section below.
