FSSAI Approved Street Food Joints

No can resist the taste of the crisp aloo chaat, the spicy bhel puri and the evergreen golgappas! Delicious! Aren’t they? But when it comes to hygiene, is there any street food joint that you can vouch for? We have constantly been eating street food ignoring the unhygienic methods being practiced by the vendors since ages. FSSAI has stepped in to ensure that the street food we so lovingly enjoy should not compromise on hygiene. In 2016, FSSAI launched ‘Clean Street Food Hub Programme’. A few of the famous eating joints in India have already been approved by the FSSAI after they abided to all the proper guidelines, and a few joints are in the pipelines. Here is a list of street food joints where you can eat whatever street food you like without worrying about hygiene.

1. Ahmedabad Kankaria Lake-
   
   With almost 666 street food vendors, Kankaria Lake has a sprawling street food culture attracting tourists from all over the country. FSSAI has declared this area to be the first ‘clean street food hub’ of the country.
2. Ahmedabad Urban Chowk: Another approved street food eating joint in Ahmedabad. Urban Chowk offers a variety of Indian and Chinese Food with a beautiful ambience.
3. Surat Gopi Talav:
   
   One more from Gujrat, Gopi Talav, a famous place for street food joints in Surat has been approved by FSSAI after undergoing a major makeover in the past two years.
4. Mumbai Girgaum Chowpatty:
   
5. This Mumbai street food hub is another approved eating joint where you can find a variety of street food options which attracts both; Indian and foreign customers.
6. Juhu Chowpatty:
   One of the most famous hangout places in Mumbai, Juhu witnesses a lot of tourists everyday and offers a variety of street food options to the customers. The approval by the FSSAI has become a cherry on top for this place.
7. Indore Chappan Dukkan:
   
   The most recent street food hub to acquire the CSFHs tag is this famous eating joint in Indore. All the vendors have abided by the regulations that were implemented by FSSAI.
