On-Screen Bromances that we Loved!

Apart from love stories, many Bollywood movies have showcased bromances, i.e a close and emotional relationship between two or more men who are not brothers by relation. Here are our top on-screen bromances:

1) Amitabh and Dharmendra (Jai and Veeru in ‘Sholay’)

Jai and Veeru are symbolic with bromances in Bollywood. They set the tone for two male leads playing best friends with their role in ‘Sholay’. The iconic song “‘Yeh dosti, Hum Nahi Todenge” featuring the duo is an all-time favourite friendship song.

2) Salman and Aamir (Amar and Prem in ‘Andaz Apna Apna’)

The movie released over two decades ago but the comic timing and dialogues of the characters Amar and Prem stay in our hearts forever. Aamir and Salman look super cute together and nailed the bromance in the movie.

3) Saif, Aamir and Akshay (Sid, Sameer and Aakash in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’)

Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut perfectly cracked the bromance casting in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. The movie shows how three childhood friends have fun and enjoy life to the fullest but as they get older, life gets complicated and they drift apart, only to realise that they can’t live without each other.

4) Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi (Munnabhai and Circuit in ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ and ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’)

The duo has a unique chemistry and has made the nation laugh at their jokes. The first movie was such a success that they came out with a sequel as well!

5) Aamir, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi (Rancho, Farhan and Raju in ‘3 Idiots’)

The movie is about three friends studying engineering,  and it captures student and hostel life in a witty manner. The characters show the flaws in the education system and give out a strong social message for parents, teachers  and students. The movie was one of the first movies to enter the Rs. 100 crore club of Bollywood.

6) Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan (Arjun, Kabir and Imran in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’)

This movie is about 3 friends who plan to take a bachelor trip before getting married and resolve their personal issues as well as life issues while on this trip. It was received very well by the audiences and all the three actors gave exceptional performances.
