Idli Burger

Ingredients to make Idli Burger

  • Readymade Idlis
  • For Tikki :
  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • 1/2 cup grated paneer
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt
  • Chopped mint leaves
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1.5 tsp cornflour
  • For arranging Burger :
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced onions
  • Sliced cucumber
  • Mayonnaise
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Grated cheese or cheese slices
  • Chaat masala

How to make Idli Burger

  1. In a bowl, mix boiled potatoes, grated paneer, red chilli powder, chaat masala, chopped mint, coriander leaves and cornflour together.
  2. Mix them gently and make a dough.
  3. Apply some oil in your hands and make small balls from the dough and gently press them to give the shape of a tikki.
  4. Now heat the oil and shallow fry the tikkis till they are crisp and golden brown from both the sides.
  5. Now take Idlis and slit them into roundels.
  6. Apply mayonnaise on the one half of the Idli and apply tomato ketchup on the other half.
  7. Place some slices of tomatoes, onions and cucumber on Idli and also place the tikki and sprinkle some chaat masala.
  8. Now place cheese slice or grated cheese on the top and tikki and cover it with another half of Idli.
  9. Top it with a slice of cucumber and tomato and grated cheese.

My Tip:

Use fresh Idlis for the recipe. And also you can adjust the quantity of mayonnaise as per your taste.
