Chilly Mushroom

Ingredients to make Chilly Mushroom

  • 200-250 grms mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion quartered and the layers separated
  • 2-3 green chillies cut lenghtwise
  • 1 small capsicum cut into squares
  • 7-8 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper as required
  • oil for deep frying the mushrooms
  • For the batter- 5 tbsp flour(maida)
  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • Water as required to make a medium consistency batter
  • 5 tbsp flour(maida)
  • 2-3 tbsp green chilly sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce. Mix all 3 together.
  • 3 tbsp corn flour, ¼ tsp black pepper or add as required,
  • salt as required,
  • Water as required to make a medium consistency batter
  • For the Sauce: 4-5 tbsp tomato sauce

How to make Chilly Mushroom

  1. Rinse and wipe dry the mushrooms. Trim the stalks and halve them.
  2. Make a flowing medium consistency batter with all purpose flour, cornflour, black pepper, salt and water.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai. Dip each mushroom slice in the batter and coat uniformly with the batter. Add them to the medium hot oil and fry till they are slight golden and crisp. Once done keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil in another pan, add onions and stir fry on medium heat for a minute. Now add capsicum, ginger, garlic and green chilies. Cook for 2-3 mins.
  5. Now add the fried mushroom, leftover batter mix and the sauces mixture. Mix it well and cook for another one minute. Garnish with spring onion greens or chopped coriander leaves.
