Chettinad Potato fry

Ingredients to make Chettinad Potato fry

  • Urad dal 2 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chillies 5 nos
  • Pepper 1 tsp
  • Oil 2tbsp
  • Chana dal 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder 1/4 tsp
  • Onion finely chopped 2 nos
  • Curry leaves few
  • Boiled baby potatoes 15-20 nos
  • Salt to taste

How to make Chettinad Potato fry

  1. In a pan take 2 tsp urad dal, dry red chillies and pepper. Roast all this ingredients till golden brown.
  2. Cool it and grind it to a fine powder.Your chettinad masala powder is ready.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add Chana dal, 1/2 tsp urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and asafoetida powder to it. Cook this well.
  4. Now add onions and saute for some time. Also add curry leaves and saute it.
  5. Add boiled baby potatoes mix it well. Add salt and prepared chettinad masala. Mix all this well. Cook for another few minutes.
  6. Your chettinad potato fry is ready to eat. Enjoy.
