Mutton curry

Ingredients to make Mutton curry

  • For marinating: 1kg mutton pieces
  • 4-5 big onions sliced
  • 1 big tomato chopped
  • 2tbs ginger garlic paste
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2tsp coriander powder
  • 1n1/2tsp cumin powder
  • 2tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  • 2tsp meat masala
  • 2tsp mustard oil
  • 2tsp salt
  • Other ingredients: 1tsp garam masala
  • 2-3tbs mustard oil
  • Handful of fresh coriander leaves
  • water as required.

How to make Mutton curry

  1. Marinate the mutton pieces with all the spices mentioned under marination for 8-10hours or overnight.
  2. Heat mustard oil, add the marinated mutton pieces and fry for 10-12mins or until mutton pieces looks fried and oil starts separating.
  3. Heat a pressure cooker, add 2tsp oil,add the fried mutton pieces with 1-2cups of hot water, add garam masala powder and cook for good 8-10 whistles or 15-20mins or until mutton is tender.
  4. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
