French Beans Dal Subji

Ingredients to make French Beans Dal Subji

  • French beans 250 grams
  • Arhar dal-1/2 cup
  • Channa dal 1/2 cup
  • Red chillies 4
  • salt to taste
  • hing
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp

How to make French Beans Dal Subji

  1. Cut beans into small pieces.
  2. Pressure cook the beans with salt and turmeric.
  3. Soak aarhar dal and channa dal for an hour along with water and red chillies.
  4. Grind it into coarse paste with salt.
  5. In a heavy base kadai, take half cup oil. Add mustard and hing.
  6. Add the paste and cook it for 15 to 20 minutes till most of the water evaporates.
  7. Dal separates out.
  8. Add beans draining away water.
  9. Close it with a lid for 5 minutes.
  10. Mix dal and beans slowly.
  11. Serve hot with sambar rice.

My Tip:

We can make the same recipe using snake gourd, lauki,carrots, capsicum.
