New Orleans Jambalaya

Ingredients to make New Orleans Jambalaya

  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 200 gms Boneless chicken cut into thin strips
  • 200 gms Prawn de shelled
  • 4-5 strips of bacon cut into small pieces
  • 4-5 pcs chicken sausages
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic finely chopped
  • Red hot sauce acc to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dry mixed herbs
  • Green onions
  • Bell peppers cut into small cubes
  • Créole Seasoning
  • 2 tsp garlic pwd
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika pwd
  • 11/2 tspn dried thyme
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • chilli flakes

How to make New Orleans Jambalaya

  1. Make a powder of all the ingredients listed under creole seasoning and keep aside.
  2. Marinate all the meats with the creole seasoning separately and keep aside for half an hour
  3. Heat oil in a wok and add chopped garlic and onions. Sauté till onions become soft.
  4. Add the marinated chicken, then prawns, sausages , bacon. Add the bell peppers. Then add all the sauces and rice.
  5. Mix everything well. Add salt and pepper. Lastly add the herb mix and some more creole spice pwd.
  6. Remove and serve with a garnish of green onions.
