Bata Mach in Yellow Gravy

Ingredients to make Bata Mach in Yellow Gravy

  • Bata mach (Bata Fish) - 250 gm
  • White mustard paste - 1/2 tspn
  • Milk - 125 ml
  • water - 15 ml
  • salt
  • Green chilli - 4 to 5
  • onion seed (Kalaunji) - 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves - 1 tbsp
  • mustard oil
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp

How to make Bata Mach in Yellow Gravy

  1. Marinate the fish with salt and turmeric powder and deep fry in mustard oil in a pan.
  2. Remove the oil in which the fish has been fried. In a fresh pan add oil and add onion seed, green chilli and half of the curry leaves.
  3. Stir a little. In a bowl mix the mustard paste and milk and add it in the pan.
  4. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix.
  5. When it starts boiling add the fried fish, rest of the curry leaves and green chillies. If required add little water.
  6. When a thick consistency is gained remove from flame and add 2 tsp mustard oil from top.
  7. Serve hot with plain rice.
