Ingredients to make Namak paare !!

  • 2 cups : All purpose flour / Maida
  • 1/4 cup : Oil
  • 2 tsp : Carom seeds/ Ajwain
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for Deep frying

How to make Namak paare !!

  1. In a bowl add flour, carom seeds, salt and oil. Mix it thoroughly until oil is incorporated well and crumbly texture is attained.
  2. Now add water little by little and knead a stiff dough.
  3. Cover and rest this dough for 20 mins.
  4. Divide the dough into five or six equal portions. Roll into a 0.5 mm thick round.
  5. Using a knife or pizza cutter cut into diagonals. Now fry them in moderately hot oil until golden on both the sides..
  6. Drain them onto a paper towel. Cool them at room temperature n store in airtight container. Cherish while stock lasts.

My Tip:

Fry in moderate hot oil for crispy paare !! Adding oil to the flour gives that flaky n crisp texture !!
