Magic Masala Bullets

Ingredients to make Magic Masala Bullets

  • barley -1/2 cup
  • Green peas 1 to 2 tsp
  • green chillies- 2 to 3
  • 1 tea spoon sunflower oil
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • lemon juice for garnishing
  • garlic 2 to 3 buds
  • onion 1
  • tomato
  • coriander Leaves for garnishing

How to make Magic Masala Bullets

  1. Soak 1/2 cup barley in water for an hour.
  2. Wash it again with water
  3. Pour 1 tea spoon of sunflower oil in pressure cooker.
  4. Once oil is hot enough add cumin seeds
  5. Add pinch of asafoetida.
  6. Add 2-3 finely chopped green chillies.
  7. Add 2-3 buds of cloves which are minced well
  8. Add one small bulb of finely chopped onion.
  9. Wait till onion turns brown
  10. Add 1-2 tea spoon of green peas.
  11. Now add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt as per taste.
  12. Add little water to the masala and let it cook. Once tomato looks mashed it means it is cooked.
  13. Now add soaked barley and 1&1/2 cup of water and wait for two whistles.
  14. Serve it hot and lemon juice to it and garnish it with coriander leaves.
