Ingredients to make Date Night Pizza

  • 1 medium pizza base (thick crust)
  • One small onion thinly sliced in roundels
  • One small tomato thinly sliced in roundels
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 small green bell pepper thinly sliced in roundels
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For pizza sauce - 1 tablespoon pasta sauce
  • 2 tablespoon fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon green chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chili sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped jalapeño (optinal)

How to make Date Night Pizza

  1. Preheat the oven on 150 degrees for 10 minutes. Meanwhile mix all the sauce ingredients. Thyme and rosemary can be mixed in with sauce or can be added later. Depends on the liking of seasoning.
  2. Spread the hearty sauce on the pizza base spread a couple of spoonfulls.
  3. Now adjust onions, bell pepper and tomatoes accordingly that it looks like a domino effect. Sprinkle heaps of cheese.
  4. Now sprinkle olives, and again layer it with cheese.
  5. Season with salt , pepper, oregano, rosemary and thyme. Drop spoonfulls of rest of the sauce on top and spread evenly. Again top up with cheese.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  7. If you desire thin crust, simply roll out the base before putting anything on it with a rolling pin and then put the toppings and bake for 12-14 minutes.

My Tip:

To make pizza base from scratch: Just mix - 1 cup all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon active yeast mixed with warm milk. Knead into a soft ball and roll out.
