Mexican Tacos

Ingredients to make Mexican Tacos

  • 1/2 cup maize flour
  • 1 cup maida
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • For stuffing:
  • Small kidney beans
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp Mexican sizzling
  • 2 Chopped Onions
  • 2 Chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2tbsp tomato sauce

How to make Mexican Tacos

  1. Mix flours, salt and oil. Make a rigid dough like puri with water, knead dough for 15 minutes. Roll out the dough into small puri. Deep fry in hot oil and then bend into U shape. Take out in tissue paper. Store in a container when cooled.
  2. For green sauce: 100 gms green tomatoes, 1 onion , 2 green chillies, 2 tsp vinegar, salt to taste. Cut tomatoes , onion and green chillies into big pieces. Add quarter cup of water and refrigerate it. Now make a pulp. Strain it and then add vinegar and salt.
  3. Red sauce: Mix together 1/2 cup tomato ketchup and 1tsp red chilli sauce.
  4. For stuffing: Boil the soaked kidney beans. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the onions for a minute add tomatoes, fry again for minute , add beans and all other masala as well as salt as per requirement. Now add tomato ketchup. Remove from fire and keep it aside.
  5. For salad take a bunch of purple cabbage , a bunch of spring onions and 2 grated carrot. You can also add lettuce. Now add salt and 1tsp chilli powder. Mix them well.
  6. For serving in each tacos place the stuffing of beans on top spread the green and red save and finally garnish with salad.

My Tip:

You can prepare tacos shells in advance and it can be stored for long period in an air tight container. The same recipe for tacos shells is applicable to nachos chips. Roll out the tacos dough as much thin as you can do so that it becomes more crispy.
