Sweet Banana Chips

Ingredients to make Sweet Banana Chips

  • 900 grams raw bananas
  • 125 ml water
  • 8 tbsp sugar
  • Oil as required to deep fry

How to make Sweet Banana Chips

  1. Take a large pot/kadhai and heat it with oil to deep fry.
  2. Slice the bananas with the help of a mandolin slicer and keep aside.
  3. Once the oil is hot, fry the sliced bananas in batches.
  4. Deep fry the banana slices till it changes colour and is almost crisp.
  5. When the oil stops bubbling, remove the banana chips and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
  6. To make the syrup, heat a pan and pour in the water and sugar together. Bring it to a boil.
  7. Stir this mixture well together then switch off the heat. Let syrup cool down.
  8. Once the syrup is cool, dip the banana chips into it and drain the excess syrup if any. Keep aside.
  9. When the syrup dries up, you can choose to store these banana chips in a container.
  10. Serve with a cup of tea to enjoy it at its best.

Hi Upasana, I tried these too, they came out so good. I just fried the bananas on low heat till crisp and then dipped them in a one-thread sugar syrup, they were not soggy.So basically you might need to boil your sugar syrup more.

Hi u tried these ones but smhow when the chips got cooled they became soggy. Taste was okay not too sweet nor too bland.. Did I miss smthing???
