ABOUT Aluwadi RECIPE

Its Traditional Maharashtrian Dish which anyone can enjoy on anytime. Its Tangy, Spicy & Very Tasty can also serve as a Snack into Parties or Any Small Functions.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bunch of Colocassia Leaves
  2. 2 cups Chikpea Flour / Besan
  3. 1 tbsp Rice Flour
  4. 1/4 cup Tamrind Pulp
  5. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  6. 1 Tsp Dhana-Jeera Powder (Raw Coriander Powder-Cumin Powder)
  7. 1 tsp Turmuric Powder
  8. 1/4 tbsp Chaat Masala
  9. Salt to taste
  10. oil

Instructions

  1. First washed Colocassia Leaves thorouhly under the water for 3 to 4 times.
  2. Put Broad Vessal then put Chickpea Flour & Rice Flour into it.
  3. Added Red Chilli Powder, Dhana-Jeera Powder, Chaat Masala, Asafotida, Salt to Taste and little Water.
  4. Mixed everything well and added Tamrind Pulp ( as per how much tangy flevour I want ) into it & then made Semi Smooth Batter.
  5. Then took Colocassia Leaves flip it & took undernith side of the Colocassia Leaf & put it on the broad big Plate.
  6. Applied the Semi Smooth Batter on all over the Leaf.
  7. Then Took other undernith Colocassia Leaf put it on the first Leaf then again spread the Batter all Over the Leaf.
  8. Repeat the same Process on all the Colocassia Leaves.
  9. Made tight Roll of the Colocassia Leaves.
  10. Put Pressure Cooker removed the Vissel of that.
  11. Tooke Pressure Cooker Vessal greaced it by little Oil and put the Colocassia Leaves Roll into it.
  12. Put that Vessal into Pressure Cooker then Covered the Lid and put Cooker on the Gas.
  13. Steamed the Aluvadi / Colocassia Leaves Roll on high flame for 15 Minutes then put it aside to came on room tempreature.
  14. After Aluvadi came on room tempreature cut it medium pieses of ready Aluvadi.
  15. Put kadhai on Gas and poured Oil in it to Heated.
  16. After Heated the Oil put Aluvadis into Kadhai and deep fried it from both the sides.
  17. Hot hot Aluvadi put it into Serving Plate.
  18. Garmagaram Aluvadi / Colocassia Leaves Vadi Ready to Eat.
