Ingredients to make Flower bread

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3-4 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 - 1 cup milk
  • Extra flour for dusting
  • 3 tbsp chopped capsicum
  • 2 tbsp frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp frozen corn
  • tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • Dried Italian herbs to sprinkle
  • Shredded chicken 1 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Cheese as required (Mozzarella)
  • butter for greasing and brushing
  • spring onions 3 tbsp

How to make Flower bread

  1. Mix sugar into warm milk, add yeast and let it rest for 10 minutes. Let it proof.
  2. In a bowl add flour, yeast mixture and gently mix.
  3. Start kneading slightly, add butter and knead till you get a smooth and soft dough. Keep aside covered in a warm place for 50 minutes.
  4. For the sauce: In a pan, add butter, vegetables of your choice, shredded chicken, chilli powder and tomato puree.
  5. Add mixed herbs to enhance the taste, finally add in the spring onions and mix well.
  6. When the dough has doubled in size, punch and release all the air and knead for another 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 4 parts or more. Roll into chapatis and keep aside.
  7. To assemble: Place one rolled dough on a baking tray. Apply the chicken stuffing and place another rolled dough. Make a layer of 4 or more.
  8. Sprinkle lots of cheese on every layer. Make a circle marking on the last finished layer. Make cuts in it, hold two parts and twist to give a flower look.
  9. Drizzle oil and keep aside for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven and bake at 180 degrees for 15 - 25 minutes.
  10. Remove when done, apply butter on it and serve.

My Tip:

Use lots of Mozzarella cheese.
