ABOUT Paneer stuffed palak kofta RECIPE

This dish made of Palak koftas stuffed with paneer in almond tomato gravy. This can be eaten with rice or chapati.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 bunch of palak
  2. 1 bowl of mashed paneer
  3. 1 small bowl besan
  4. 1 tspn jeera
  5. 1 tblspn chilli garlic paste
  6. 3 tspn red chilli powder
  7. 1 tspn garam masala
  8. 3 to 4 tspn salt
  9. 1 tblspn oil
  10. 1 onion cut slicely
  11. 4 tomatoes cut into big pieces
  12. 5 green chillies
  13. 15 to 20 almonds
  14. 5 garlic cloves
  15. 1 small piece ginger
  16. 1 tspn turmeric
  17. 2 tspn dhania powder
  18. 1 tblspn kasoori methi
  19. 1 bowl curd
  20. Oil
  21. 1 tblspn butter

Instructions

  1. First chop and wash the bunch of palak. Now boil palak in a pan for three to five mins. After boiling, drain the excess of water. Keep it in a sieve for few mins. Now take a kadai and add 1 tspn oil in it.
  2. Now add jeera in it.
  3. After that add chilli garlic paste and saute it.
  4. Now add besan and roast it for few mins.
  5. Now add palak, salt, half garam masala and red chilli powder.
  6. Mix it well and stirr it continously for few mins.
  7. Now transfer this mixture to the plate to cool down at the room temperature.
  8. Till then, mash paneer in a mixing bowl.
  9. Add salt and garam masala to taste.
  10. Mix it properly and make tiny shape balls in equal size.
  11. Now knead and make a soft dough of the palak mixture.
  12. After that make equal size balls of it but bigger then the paneer balls.
  13. Now take one palak ball and flatten it with the palm.
  14. Stuff paneer ball in it and fold slowly slowly so that paneer ball doesnot comes out of the balls.
  15. Now are paneer stuffed palak koftas are ready to fry.
  16. Heat oil in a kadai for frying.
  17. When heated, drop one by one paneer stuffed palak koftas into the kadai.
  18. Deep fry them from both the sides.
  19. When gets golden brown and crisp, remove them from the oil.
  20. In this way koftas are ready.
  21. Now lets make the gravy for the koftas.
  22. So take a kadai and add oil in it.
  23. Now add butter and onion.
  24. After that add ginger, garlic, chillis and almonds.
  25. Roast and saute it on sim flame.
  26. After few mins, add tomatoes and cook them till they get soft.
  27. After few mins, switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  28. Then put it in the mixing jar, and make a fine paste of it.
  29. Now heat 1 tblspn of oil and put this paste into it.
  30. Saute it for few mins and add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala and dhania powder.
  31. Mix it well and now add curd in it.
  32. Stirr it continously so that it does not cuddle or no lumps of curd is formed.
  33. After that, add kasuri methi and again stirr it.
  34. See the consistency of the gravy by adding water.
  35. Cook it for 10 mins by covering it with the lid.
  36. After that our gravy is ready.
  37. Before serving, cut the koftas from the middle and pour the gravy over it.
  38. Our paneer stuffed palak koftas are ready to serve with chapati and rice.
  39. You can also pour some cream over it.
