Ingredients to make Kappa Kuzhachath (Tapioca)

  • Kappa/Tapioca : 1 kg
  • Salt: As Needed
  • Water To Boil: As Needed
  • Coconut: 1 cup
  • Garlic: 4 cloves
  • Green Chilies: 3
  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Small onion: 4
  • Coconut Oil: 1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds: 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds: 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri Chilies: 3
  • Curry Leaves: 10 leaves

How to make Kappa Kuzhachath (Tapioca)

  1. Chop kappa/Tapioca into a pan and wash
  2. Put the kappa into a pressure cooker and fill with water. Add salt.
  3. Cook for 3 to 4 whistles.Grind grated coconut, turmeric, onion, garlic, and green chilies in a mixer.
  4. Now open cooker and drain the water and then mash kappa.Add in the ground coconut mix and mix well.
  5. Heat a pan add coconut oil and add in mustard seeds, whole red chillies, and curry leaves. Pour this over the mashed kappa and mix well.
  6. Serve hot with fish curry or chutney
My Tip: Tapioca is good to have with Fish curry and Curd. Its however best with Spicy Karimeen pollichathu(Pearl spot fish).
