Ingredients to make Semiya Sago kheer with a twist

  • Milk 1 litre
  • Roasted Semiya 1 cup
  • sago 1/2 cup
  • sugar 1 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla custard powder 1 tbsp
  • Elachi powder 1 tsp
  • Dry fruits a hand full
  • ghee 1 tbsp

How to make Semiya Sago kheer with a twist

  1. Take a kadai add ghee and roast the dry fruits. Semiya separately and keep aside. Wash and soak sago in water for 20 minutes.
  2. Take a wok and boil milk.
  3. Once boiled add semiya and drained sago to the milk. Let it boil. When sago and semiya are cooked, add sugar and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add vanilla custard powder dissolved in milk. Let it boil for 10 minutes. Keep stirring continuously in a low flame.
  5. Add fried dry fruits and elaichi powder. Mix well and turn off the flame. Close the lid for 10 minutes so that the nice aroma stays within.
  6. Serve hot or chilled.
