Beetroot Cutlets

Ingredients to make Beetroot Cutlets

  • Beetroot 1 big
  • carrots 2 medium
  • potatoes 3 medium
  • onion 2 finely chopped
  • green chillies 5
  • garlic cloves 4
  • Dry mango powder 1 tsp
  • fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • jeera 1/2 tsp
  • coriander leaves a handful
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Rusk powder for dusting

How to make Beetroot Cutlets

  1. Boil carrots, beetroot and potatoes together for 4 whistles. Let the cooker cool. Then drain it, mash well together and keep aside.
  2. Add jeera, fennel, green chillies, garlic and coriander leaves into a mixer and make a coarse powder. Do not add water while grinding.
  3. Take a kadai. Add oil. Fry onions till translucent. Add dry mango powder, ground mixture and fry for sometime. Add garam masala and salt. Mix well.
  4. Now add mashed veggies and mix well. Shape into cutlets and roll it on rusk powder and shallow fry on tawa.
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
