Ingredients to make Cinnamon Flavored Fried Butter

  • 1/6 cup white sugar
  • 11/2 tspn ground cinammon
  • 1 stick butter cut into 4 pieces (1pc of 1 tbsp)
  • 1/2 cup flour or more as needed
  • 1tspn baking powder
  • 1/4 tspn salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbspn white sugar for batter
  • 6 tbspn vegetable oil or as needed
  • toothpicks
  • 1/4 cup sugar or as needed for dusting

How to make Cinnamon Flavored Fried Butter

  1. Whish 1/6 cup white sugar and 1 1/2 tspn cinnamon together in a shallow bowl. Dip each piece of butter into cinnamon sugar mixture to coat completely. Place butter in a plastic wrap and freeze until hard, 8 hrs to overnight.
  2. Stir 1/2 cup flour , 2 tspn cinnamon, baking powder and salt together in 1 bowl. Beat milk, eggs and white sugar together in another bowl. Add flour mixture to milk mixture till desired consistency is reached.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to high flame.
  4. Poke a toothpick into center of each frozen piece of butter. Dip butter into batter to coat completely.
  5. Working in batches, carefully drop coated butter pieces into hot oil and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown and puffed, about 2 mins.
  6. Transfer fried butter to a paper towel lined plate and dust with confectioners sugar.

My Tip:

For easier coating , try piping the butter into tspn sized dots instead of cutting them into tbspn sized pieces.
