Buttery Smashed Potatoes

Ingredients to make Buttery Smashed Potatoes

  • Small potatoes - 1/2 kg
  • butter - 1/4 cup Melted
  • garlic - 4 cloves crushed and chopped
  • Mixed herbs - as per preference
  • Cheese- 1/4 cup grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For yoghurt dip:
  • Hung yoghurt - 1/4 cup
  • honey - 1 tsp
  • Curry powder - 2 tsp
  • lime juice - 1/4 tsp or around quarter of a lime
  • salt to taste.

How to make Buttery Smashed Potatoes

  1. Boil potatoes until tender but not very soft. Cool and peel. Mash with a potato masher slightly, should not all apart.
  2. Arrange on a baking tray. Preheat grill to 180 C.
  3. Take melted butter, add crushed garlic and mixed herbs
  4. Pour over potatoes with a spoon. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 mins or until crispy.
  6. Take out and sprinkle grated cheese over all potatoes and put in oven for 5 mins.
  7. I have made a yoghurt dip here. Mix all dip ingredients together in a bowl.
  8. Serve potatoes hot alongside the dip or whatever sauce you prefer.
