Date and Walnut Muffins

Ingredients to make Date and Walnut Muffins

  • 1/2 tin milk maid
  • 140 gms maida
  • 60 gms butter
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 125 gms dates
  • 50 gms walnut

How to make Date and Walnut Muffins

  1. Chop the dates and walnuts. Soak them in milk or water for 7 to 8 hours or overnight. Preferably use milk.
  2. Beat butter, add milk maid to it. Now add baking soda and baking powder again beat it. Add sieved maida. Now add dates and walnuts mixture. Cut and fold.
  3. Fill the better in muffins cups till 3/4 layer. Bake it at 180 degree centigrade for 20 to 25 minutes in a preheated oven.

My Tip:

The mixture of date and walnut should be little soft as if it would be hard then muffins don't rise properly. Take care while adding baking soda.
