Dahiwala Dum Aloo

Ingredients to make Dahiwala Dum Aloo

  • 1/2 kg baby potatoes
  • 1 cup curd
  • 2 onion
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves and mint leaves
  • salt as per taste
  • red chilli powder as per taste
  • haldi 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp Gram masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 rai
  • oil as required

How to make Dahiwala Dum Aloo

  1. Wash, boil and peel the potatoes.
  2. Clean, wash and chop the coriander and mint leaves.
  3. Prick the potatoes with a knife or a fork all over.
  4. In a mixing bowl put curd, salt, red chilli powder, haldi, coriander leaves, mint leaves, potatoes and mix well. Keep it aside for at least 1 hour. (Overnight if possible)
  5. After 1 hour keep a pan on the stove and put oil in it. Add jeera and rai, when it crakles add onions, green chilli and saute. Add the potato mix and a little water, saute for a few minutes.
  6. When it starts leaving oil from the sides, it is done and ready to be served.

My Tip:

If possible, marinate the potatoes overnight in the yogurt for best taste.
