How to make Rajma

  1. Pressure cook the rajma in 8 cups of water with salt and turmeric till it's done.
  2. In another pressure cooker, add ghee to heat, then add hing, cumin seeds, biryani masala, bay leaves, cinnamon, black cardamom, deg imirch, ginger, garlic, green chillies, onion paste. Saute it for 5-6 minutes.
  3. Then add tomato puree and saute till the ghee separates. Next add methi leaves, cover and cook it for 15 minutes till 4-5 whistles blow.
  4. Open the cooker lid, add the rajma masala, butter and coriander leaves.
  5. Serve it warm alongside boiled rice.

My Tip:

To balance the flavours, add 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. When the rajma is boiled, remove it in another bowl, clean the cooker and use it again.
