A middle eastern style inspired tikkis with spicy croutons.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Falafel tikkis:
  2. Boiled kabuli Chana/ Chickpeas- 1 cup
  3. Chopped onion - 1
  4. Chopped ginger- 1 tsp
  5. Chopped garlic- 1 tsp
  6. Chopped green chillies- 3
  7. Tahini paste (roasted sesame seeds grounded with little oil to form a paste) - 2 tsp
  8. Refined oil as required
  9. Maida/cornflour - 2 tbsp
  10. Masala croutons:
  11. 4 bread slices
  12. 1 tsp pepper powder
  13. 1 red chilli powder
  14. Salt as per taste
  15. Refined oil to fry
  16. Yogurt dip:
  17. Hung curd - 1/2 cup
  18. Olive oil - 3 tbsp
  19. Salt as per taste
  20. 1 tsp sugar
  21. 1 tsp pepper powder

Instructions

  1. Mash the boiled kabuli chana in a grinder to form a coarse paste.
  2. Next mix it with rest of the ingredients and shape to form tikkis.
  3. Shallow fry them in a little oil and it is ready to be served.
  4. Cut the bread slices into desired shapes and shallow fry them in little oil. Then sprinkle salt, pepper powder and red chilli powder on them.
  5. Beat the hung curd with a spoon and slowly add in oil. Continue beating it well.
  6. Add the rest of the ingredients according to personal taste and mix it well. Serve it all together.
