Ingredients to make Falafel Tikkis with Masala Croutons

  • Falafel tikkis:
  • Boiled kabuli chana/ Chickpeas- 1 cup
  • Chopped onion - 1
  • Chopped ginger- 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic- 1 tsp
  • Chopped green chillies- 3
  • Tahini paste (roasted sesame seeds grounded with little oil to form a paste) - 2 tsp
  • Refined oil as required
  • Maida/cornflour - 2 tbsp
  • masala croutons:
  • 4 bread slices
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 red chilli powder
  • salt as per taste
  • Refined oil to fry
  • yogurt dip:
  • Hung curd - 1/2 cup
  • Olive oil - 3 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp pepper powder

How to make Falafel Tikkis with Masala Croutons

  1. Mash the boiled kabuli chana in a grinder to form a coarse paste.
  2. Next mix it with rest of the ingredients and shape to form tikkis.
  3. Shallow fry them in a little oil and it is ready to be served.
  4. Cut the bread slices into desired shapes and shallow fry them in little oil. Then sprinkle salt, pepper powder and red chilli powder on them.
  5. Beat the hung curd with a spoon and slowly add in oil. Continue beating it well.
  6. Add the rest of the ingredients according to personal taste and mix it well. Serve it all together.
