Ingredients to make Watermelon Neer Dosa

  • For the neer dosa:
  • Raw rice 2 cups
  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • Other Ingredients:
  • Finely chopped watermelon 1 cup
  • oil

How to make Watermelon Neer Dosa

  1. Soak the raw rice in water for 2 hours.
  2. Grind the grated coconut in the grinder first. After 5 minutes add in the soaked raw rice.
  3. Grind to form a smooth batter and add salt while grinding it. The batter should not be too thin.
  4. Next, add watermelon into the batter and mix it well.
  5. Heat a tawa, then add oil. Once the tawa is heated, pour in the batter and roast on a low flame. Cover it with a lid.
  6. Flip the dosa carefully and roast it on the other side as well.
  7. Serve it hot.

My Tip:

Adjust the quantity of watermelon according to your taste. If you make the batter very thin and watery, it becomes neer dosa, a famous Mangalorean breakfast. You can simply make plain dosas as well without adding watermelon.
