Paneer Gulab Jamun

Ingredients to make Paneer Gulab Jamun

  • 2 cup paneer ( crumbled cottage cheese )
  • 1 cup khoya ( evaporated milk )
  • 3 tbsp maida ( all purpose flour )
  • 2 Tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • milk for kneading dough as required
  • oil for frying
  • 10 to 12 raisins
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 Cup water

How to make Paneer Gulab Jamun

  1. Take paneer, maida , 1 tsp cardamom powder and khoya . Mix it well by hands and make a soft dough by using milk as required. Don’t over knead it
  2. Make small balls with raisins stuffed inside and fry them on medium flame in oil ( ghee is much preferable for frying )
  3. Take 2 cups sugar in a pan add 1 cup of water , add cardamom powder and cook it till the sugar dissolve. You can also add saffron
  4. Put the fried balls in sugar syrup and let them rest for 1/2 an hour
  5. Gulab Jamun are ready Garnish with finely chopped pistachio

My Tip:

I generally use home made paneer ( Take 1 litre milk, boil it and then add 1 tbsp of lime juice , the milk starts to curdle , then strain it and keep it in running water to avoid the taste of lime juice in it )
