Ingredients to make Curd rice

  • 1cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup thick curd
  • 2-3 tbs milk
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 1 inch piece of ginger chopped
  • Coriander chopped
  • 2 tbsp grated carrot
  • salt to taste
  • 1tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil/any refined oil

How to make Curd rice

  1. Cook the rice. It should be easily mashable. Spread the cooked rice on a plate and cool it and mash it.
  2. Add chopped ginger, green chilli, curd, milk, salt, coriander,carrot and mix well
  3. in a small pan heat oil.add urad dal then mustard seeds,curry leaves (asafoetida if you like)
  4. Turn off the flame.pour the tempering over the curd rice mixture.mix well.
  5. Serve this chilled along with any pickle
My Tip: curd should not be sour
