Hot Garlic Pomfret

Ingredients to make Hot Garlic Pomfret

  • Pomfret Fish - 4 pieces
  • oil - 1/2 cup
  • salt - 2 tbsp (for marinating the fish) and 1 1/2 tsp for sauce (as per taste)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • cornflour 4 tbsp
  • garlic - 7 cloves
  • onion 2 big, (cut into cubes)
  • capsicum half (cut into cubes)
  • tomato sauce - 3 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 1 tbsp
  • Red Chili paste 1 tbsp (If you want more hot flavor you can add more)
  • sugar 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp

How to make Hot Garlic Pomfret

  1. At first marinate the fish with salt and lime juice and keep it aside for atleast 1 hour, it will help to get rid of from the raw smell of the fish and add extra flavor to this dish. Then coat it in cornflour and soya sauce mixture.
  2. Now take a frying pan add oil (left 2tbs) allow this to get hot, add the fish for frying(fry it slightly). After that keep it aside.
  3. Add remaining oil, chopped garlic into it and saute it. Add cubed onion and tomato, saute it. After a minute, add cubed capsicum and red chili paste. Stir it well.
  4. Add soya, tomato sauce (If you want to add red chilly sauce add it). Add some water and season the sauce with salt, pepper and sugar as per taste. Add red chili powder and stir it.
  5. After a boil add fried fishes. Put the fish into this mixture and coat it from both sides (since it is a very soft fish stirring should be modest).
  6. After 4- 5 minutes, turn the gas off and serve hot.
